The selvam educational and charitable trust and rajas educational and charitable trust, vadakangulam were established in the year 1984 under the chairmanship of Dr.S.A.Raja, a popular philanthropist and educationist hailing from vadakkangulam.

Encouraged by the wide encomium received from all quarters of the country, Sri A. johnsel Raja, the eldest son of Dr. S. A. Raja established the Jaya Educational and Charitable Trust, Nagercoil in the year 1994. Under the functional control of this trust, Jayamatha Engineering College was started at Aralvaimozhi in kanyakumari District.
The College:
Jayamatha Engineering College (JFC) is established in 1995 and the college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE-Approval No:F.730-52-275/RC/94, dated: 23 rd august 1995) and is affiliated to the Anna University , Chennai (No: CEP/AFFI/JEC/2001-02, dated: 14.08.2002). The trust shall continue to strive in building institutions of academic brilliance.
